Colocation - what's allowed?

I'm a memeber of another forum and they're looking for a place to colocate. They have these concerns:

We currently are hosted on a server that also hosts erowid and hyperreal. We've been searching (almost in vain it seems) for a hosting company that allows IRC, shoutcast and doesn't have a problem with the content of our community (drugs and all) all for $100/month or less.

Before I recommend Surpass to them, I'd like to know if you would allow shoutcast and the legal drug (DXM) community. They've been shut down by the government a while ago, but now they are strict in moderating/removing illegal content that users sometimes post so they're not expected to run into any trouble legally.

So should I recommend surpass?

IRC is allowed.. but I'm told that they'll cut you off if it becomes too much of an issue. Servers that attract DDoS are probably not going to last long.

Drugs and all ... if it's legal, I doubt it would present an issue.

So would Surpass be willing to colocate a forum/IRC/Shoutcast server for a cough syrup drinking community?

Back to seriousness, I'm pretty sure it's ok.. the only thing worrying me is the IRC factor, as removed pointed out.

Alright, I'll tell them then. IRC shouldn't be a problem because it's not really a place where those scriptkiddies hang out.

They're still trying to get a server, so it might take a while.

How big is the IRC server? It may be a better idea to isolate IRC and the site - an IRCd shell account is only about $15.
