Two Questions before buying

Hello,

I have two questions before I buy my hosting. I am looking in to starting my own small hosting company with the OC-10 Package. I understand that I get an extra 10GB space and 10GB bandwidth for my own personal site. I would like to know if it is possible to lessen my space and get more bandwidth like 5GB of space and 30GB bandwidth or something similar. I figure I will not need that much space for my hosting site, but I will need more bandwidth since I am planning on making it community based, similar to the Surmunity forums.

My second question is: If I decide to buy a second OC-10 Package after I run out of resources on the first one, is there a way to set up sub domains for each of the servers such as:

server1.domainname.com
server2.domainname.com

And how would I go about setting that up? Also if I did this, how would my customer's domains know which server to go to?

Thanks,

Chris Neal

for the first part of your question, i don't think you're able to use space and bandwidth from your personal site for your reseller space. if that were the case, it would be very common practice.

Sorry let me rephrase. I don't want to use my private space for reselling. I want to know if I can get 5GB Space and 30GB Bandwidth or more instead of the standard 10GB Space and 10GB Bandwidth for my private space. I would like to do this because I do not need a full 10GB of space since the site is not that big, but I would like more than 10GB bandwidth for it since I expect high traffic.

If you need any other clarification, let me know.

Thanks,

Chris Neal

Sort of yes and no. Yes, you should be able to get more bandwith but you have to buy it (not sure about the current pricing for it). No, you can't change the space. Surpass doesn't do custom plans such as that. Personally, I've never really seen the need for that much space on the main reseller site, but they do it anyway. I guess it helps balance out when it comes to their accounting versus resources.
