Is it possible to just pay a little extra, say $1/month or so, and just get an extra gig of space added to the hosting package? I would like around 1500 megs, but I don't need all the stuff with the next package up. All I/m looking to do is add a gig onto my space, nothing more.

Also, I just transfered my domain (only earlier this morning) however I cancelled my old account first. So does the $15.99 transfer fee include a hosting package (I'm guessing the cheapest one if any), or at least temporarily. Or do I need to pay for that seperate?

That really does sound like an upgrade request. But, what plan do you have now?

I currently don't have a plan, I'm still waiting for my transfer to go through. So I'm wondering if I should go with the higher package for the space, or is it possible to just add some space on. I don't need te space for the entire time, but I do use it all sometimes when I need to backup some files on my computer, or transfer a few documents... but that's all beside the point. unless maybe I can just add that space for only a little bit at a time. I'm not sure that any place is as flexible as I would like, but this place seems to bend over backwards for their customers. I've been very happy with the customer service so mar, especially Manny, seems like a great guy.

MrCoolDale,

In all honesty I think even if you get the deluxe plan at only $10 a month you get 2 gigs of space.

We can accomadate extra space for a certain price, for that just email presalessurpasshosting.com with how much

space you want and they will quote you.

But like I said for the deluxe plan seems good for you. Also not to mention ftp uploads goes into account for bandwidth so it might come in handy :bananadance:

Well what you're saying does make sense, however I won't need that much space all the time. It is just a personal site for me to connect with my friends now that I've moved. It's a basic frames/no-frames 20 page site, with only about 30 or so graphics. So all that bandwith would be a waste for me. 15 gigs is plenty for me, especially since my last host only offered 5 gigs for the same price... Still I'll look into it. and when the time comes I may upgrade, since I can always do that later on.

I did have another question for you guys though.

Does the $15.99 include a hosting package, or does that come seperate? I think it comes seperate but I wasn't prompted to buy one when I went through the domain transfer stuff. So I'm thinking that once I get the thing transfered I should go ahead and buy a package... right?

oh yeah, I just want to put in a dancing banana

wait, the $15.99 is for the DN? I already have a domain name, E-Dale.net, I am trying to get that switched over... is it just coincidentally the same price maybe? That would be my guess, seeing as I couldn't have tried to buy a DN that someone else (me) already owns.

and about having to pay for the hosting service seperate, that's no problem, that's what I thought. I will just get that right after the transfer goes through, and since it's taken a few days longer than I expected, I will definately have the money by than. Money is just tight right now for me, that's why I've been asking all the questions about prices and stuff. Anyway, thank you for your help. Have a nice day ya'll!!

Yes, there is a fee that is somewhere around $15 for transferring the domain over to Surpass, but you really don't need to do that if your current registrar is giving you no troubles. All you really have to do is get signed up for hosting. Once you receive your emails from surpass, they will tell you which nameservers to point to, and you do that at your registrar. Transferring the domain over will make Surpass your new registrar.

Yeah, I know about the registrar stuff. I have every intent to change my registrar to surpass because of all the trouble I'm getting from my current one. And, that makes more sense about the pricing now. Thanks for the clarification on that issue. Anyway, I got everything situated now, I got all my issues (technical, not mental) sorted out. So I'm out of this forum, hopefully for good.
