After reading through this thread, this statement still is hanging over my head the most here. Normally if you need to expand, then yes you need to pay more money. You are using more resources, more memory and CPU of the server. I am not sure how it would work any other way. In the end, if you really need to expand in the largest way possible, then you would eventually need to get your own dedicated server. In the world of computer parts and bandwidth, there's only so much that can be done on those as well.

Thanks to everyone for helping to explain this in their own ways, it's greatly appreciated.

No, I haven't. Where can I find those?

Thanks for all the replies. I still don't really understand it, but you've made your point.

Almost any convenience store in the US. They all seem to have some kind of weird pricing scheme.

If you can handle the yearly payment, check it out. I did.

Plus, in addition to great hosting, you get all of us at no additional charge.

Welcome to Surpass/Surmunity!

O lol, I thougth you were talking about resellerpackages. I don't live in the US, so I wouldn't know. But I get your point that the pricing of things doesn't always make sense. I still think it's bad marketing and just not a good idea to make the prices per gb higher with each package, but I guess it's their choice and I'm just gonna have to live with it.

I can see your point too after looking at my own plans. But this is maybe why they do it. They can fit more lower plans on a server, but end up getting less for it. But higher plans they can fit less, but get more out of it.

SO - Maybe it is the lower plans are more expensive and the higher plans are cheaper, rather then the other way around.
