Transferring to Surpass - A few big questions
I'm with IX Web Hosting right now. I was suckered in by their low prices and I have performance that could be bested by my home computer hooked up via dialup at many times. I've lost count of the times I was down in the last week (had to push the official launch back until next week because of this).
So I want to switch to Surpass. Can I...
Thank you! |

Hmmm....
According to this article: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/moving_servers I need SSH or TELNET access in order to move my board over to your servers. Do you have it? Thanks! Ooops - my bad I accidentally hit 'reply' - my mind is out in left field . |

Transfer my two domains (and how)
Yes, you can transfer the two domains, depending upon the plan you choose, would change the way you transfer. If your current hosting company uses cPanel, Surpass can take your full backup and install it in one of their servers. What about my email accounts? Can they, and their data, be transferred over? Yes. Same way, or you can ftp it. How smooth would the transition be? When I moved my domain over to Surpass it was *almost* transparent to me. DNS propagation caused me to get mail in two different places for a couple of days, but otherwise it went better than I'd hoped. Are there any help files here for switching hosting companies? Any ideas? Tips? Suggestions This, I'm not so good with. With my old hosting, it was straight html. I didn't have any php, databases, etc, and all my mail was POP and on my computer. I was able to ftp it from one place to another and had it up and running within a few minutes of it being activated with Surpass. Oh yeah, and they do offer SSH access for a one time $20 fee. It is granted with you knowing that all activity over the SSH connection will be logged and you're entirely responsible for all actions done via ssh.
