If you plan on offering service to other people, reseller is for you.
If you don't, it isn't.

I would also add that if you are going to host more than a couple of sites, even if they are all yours, a reseller may be the way to go. It allows you to manage each site separately, and, you'll have everything in place should you decide to host a few friend's websites to pay for your own.

Failure is not an option. It comes standard with all Microsoft products.

It helps to know what you are planning on hosting? How much disk space, bandwith do you need? How many sites are you hosting? How much are you willing to pay? How much is(are) your site(s) to grow in the near future?

Offering service.. or creating more than one website and having a full featured control panel for each one.
