What is your uptime percentage?

you named the thread "Uptown" not uptime. I don't know if that was done on purpose or not...

The uptime percentage is something like 99.7% if I remember correctly. Believe me, they are hardly ever down. If I am wrong please correct me on the percentage. One place is 99.7% and another place is 99.99% and I can't remember which one is which.

however I believe that this is on the home page, or somewhere in the forums. check around.

I took a look at your user name then the uptown thingy... :thumbsup: that was funny..

hes right... It very little downtime, I am a looser and are glued to my laptop all hours of the day and ALWAYS are in my email. Once in a while email will go down, but its only for under a Min, the server prob is getting rebooted. Nothing Major..

Well not really a looser, But I am on for my clients and I am always working.. hee hee..

I want to explain something right now.
It is very important. I might put it somewhere else in the forum.
We always have people coming in, asking 'What is the uptime percentage'
Hosting companies tell you the percentage of their network uptime.
However, clients don't want to know about that. They want to know how often their site is going to be up.
This all relies on server uptime.
So while websites are telling you 99.7% this, 99.9% that... it's all really no matter to you. That is just network uptime, and it's probably rock solid.*

However, will the server your site is on be reliable? Will it have problems?
Sometimes there are problems. Some are unexpected. As you can see in the Server Announcements forum, we announce everything that occurs to our servers. Some have more posts than others. We monitor them 24/7 and we are obsessive about it.

Anyway, so while our network uptime is also around 99.9%.... we say that our server uptime is 99%. This is found on our company info page, which also has the terms. I believe 99% uptime means that there could, but there probably won't be, 7 hours of server downtime a month.

*Hosting companies claim their uptime (network uptime) to be 99.9% and some even 100%.. which COULD BE true as some networks never go down that have perfect bandwidth providers. Right now we use a blend of NAC and ThePlanet while we are building our datacenter. We already have about 20 servers up in our own place, but are working on getting either an XO line or UUNet (or BOTH) added to the already existing TimeWarner line, before we make the big switch.
