I see there has been some discussion on them, but would like to know when and if there are going to be new specs for them before I sign up....

Information on that has not been released yet. But there was a indication something was going to be done. Time will tell.

From the sounds of it, no, no one knows. If the staff had decided on a course of action i am sure they would have made it clear. since there is no clear plan for them yet, chances are they have not made any final decisions. They are normally pretty prompt about updating info, so until that time as you hear an announcement, no one knows.
