Post [Answered] Extra Space

Well, I was wondering before I purchase something, can you add extra disk space and bandwidth?

You can with a dedicated server. I don't think Surpass has it set up for other accounts like shared or reseller.

How much space do you get for just your domain and not your own clients with a dedicated server? And don't you have your own cPanel?

Yes, you may increase your needs by upgrading to a larger plan at any time.

From what I can tell, it definitely looks like it would have to be an upgraded plan. I know there are add-ons for bandwith... among other things, but not disk space.

At least, not published.

With a dedicated you can set it up the way you want it and if you don't get cpanel and WHM in a package deal like with a sale they are an additional cost if you want them.

As Skip just indicated, there is no "free bonus site" with a dedicated box - what's the need, you're getting 80gb! Slice it however you like.

Well with me, cause I am leaning towards keeping my server, I have 160gb (after software OS and stuff, all for the server, I have 140gb) HDD and another one for backups.

Anyways, you've heard alot of comments, but here is the deal that Surpass gives.

You can purchase more bandwidth, but not more disk space, as is the reason they give so much. If you want more storage, you will have to upgrade accounts.

However, seeing as how bandwidth isn't always constant and sometimes the person might need more for a month cause of a popular event (like E# in May is to gaming websites) but not want to go through the hassle of paying more for every month after (aka upgrading an account). Surpass allows bandwidth upgrades for more than just dedicated peoples, but this bandwidth is intended for one time needs (cause of the price mainly). If you need more bandwidth constantly, then it would be best to upgrade as it saves more money for you.

It is however recommended that account holder upgrade their accounts instead of adding extra bandwidth as it is more cost effective.

Bandwidth Amount
5 Gigabytes Extra Bandwidth = $10/Monthly
10 Gigabytes Extra Bandwidth = $15/Monthly
20 Gigabytes Extra Bandwidth = $20/Monthly
30 Gigabytes Extra Bandwidth = $30/Monthly
40 Gigabytes Extra Bandwidth = $40/Monthly
50 Gigabytes Extra Bandwidth = $50/Monthly
(I edited the bandwidth chart cause the forum can't use tables in posts :P)

So, if you need temporary extended bandwidth and thus do not need to upgrade if it is just a bursted occurance, the addon service will help. However, if you constaintly need more bandwidth, "upgrading accounts" would be the best answer.

Hope my long post helped more than confuse There is also alot of other interesting things in the addon section as well!

Oh, just realized... a service many people forgot is the Surpass WHM AP Reseller Plans. Those plans allow extra storage at $5 per GB and extra bandwidth at $10 per 15 GB block rates.
