Question Moving Server

Hey guys,

Currently I have an UNMANAGED server with Serverbeach.

I am looking to move over to this company, however -- I am scared of moving my databases over, is there any assitance available with this?

I run a few web sites that have databases that I can't afford to lose.

Thanks.

Yes, Surpass will be able to help. How many databases you have will depend on how long it will take and how many they will do for free (because each database move takes time, they can't do 1000 5MB databases for each client that moves, but I believe they'll do the first 10 or so for free, regardless of size... and they have a rather acceptable cost for any additional ones).

What you should do is submit a ticket to the Surpass help desk, sales division (https://desk.surpasshosting.com/) and ask them for specifics. This is a general forum with mostly user to user help, and while I can tell you that Surpass will be able to help move your databases over, I can't give you any details to how much help or how long it will take. You don't have to register for the help desk, but it will help keep your tickets organized if you do. And they'll be able to answer you in detail everything that needs to be done to get you moved over smoothly.

I hope you do move here, and you enjoy your stay at Surpass.

Basically, they well help you move and the cost depends on the amount of work involved. Something like what Rai states is not a work intensive move. To give a better picture, if it is something a WHM/cPanel transfer can do (aka, full backup option on the WHM), it is more easy for them.

If it is like 160gb being transfered, I'll pretty much garenteed it will cost ya. However, I've had a friend have 40gb or so transfered for no charge. It really just depends on the intensity.

Kayla,

This was my unregistered question...

I have since signed up, bought a dedi and Surpass has been helpful so far.

We haven't made the move yet, but plan to do so this week -- and they asked me for all my login information and they'll do it for me. I stressed before I joined that I can't lose my mySQL database, and although I designed the site, did some modifications etc... I am not 100% confident in MOVING everything, as I haven't done it before and I learn by doing things -- however in this case, businesses pay to list on my web site and I have a lot of work I can't risk losing.

I'll report back when it's all done, but so far.. I am IMPRESSED!!

If something does not fully show up, drop in a ticket and they'll ensure it is working

Thanks for keeping us updated.
