Server Security issues with present webhost, Looking for a new Webhost
I'm presently looking for a new webhost due to their lack of attention dealing with security issues. 3 times this past year my index and home pages had line of html added at the top. This HTML consisted of an iframe containing a redirect to a Russian or Amsterdam server that tries to load a virus payload to computers accessing our website. This was not the result of someone hacking into my account as most if not all of the index pages on the server are affected in the same matter. This company knows about these issues but refuses to notify affected account holders about these problems when they occur. Tech support seems uninterested in dealing with the problem as well.
I have a few questions about Surpass before I choose my next webhost. 1. Is this vulnerability a cPanel issue? If so I do not want to move to a new server with same software. 2. Has anyone experienced this problem with Surpass? 3. I have three domains that point to the same account, two of them just access a different folder. Can these be transfered easily? 4. If cPanel isn't an issue, can my webstats data be transfered to the new host? Thanks for your time and I look forward to reading the responses. 1) Most of the vulnerability deals with applications such as blogs and forums that do not get updated by the end user. Cpanel has nothing to do with security issues.
As a user it is their responsibility to ensure they keep up on the security updates of their applications on their site. 2) I myself have never experienced these issues. Surpass takes security seriously from what I seen. But as mentioned, it is still up to the user to make sure their site is updated with patches. 3 and 4) Neither of these should be a problem, just put in a ticket at http://desk.surpasshosting.com and ask them to transfer everything for you. You will have to supply them the domain name, username, and password of your account at the other host. In the end, you will see your site, stats, email just like it was at the other host, but you will be at Surpass Cpanel makes transfers easy.

![]() 3.) Yes, this shouldn't be an issue at all. As what it seems, you would have the main domain (1) pointed/registered to be used on that hosting account and two addon domains (2 and 3), which point to folders on the account. Each shared account coems with 10 addon/parked domains, so after your requested transfer (which Surpass does for free, in reason) the staff will move it all in and you'll still have 8 slots left, as the main domain doesn't count towards that 10 quota. 4.) The transfer request ticket (via http://desk.surpasshosting.com ) will be a process in which a support staff member will generate and/or download a 'full' cpanel backup for a direct transfer to the server your new account is on. This 'full' backup includes everything from your old host; files, folders, databases, cPanel customizations/statistics, etc. So, it'll be almost like you never left your old cPanel, just the hardware/host/service of course .
