Question Looking for new hosting

I've been with this company for just over 6 months and have been given the task to procure new hosting for our 5 or so domains. I know I want to keep each of them separate and need email hosting for each. I guess my question/hesitation is email. Our staff is generally in different places each day and rely heavily on email to communicate. I'm needing the transition of the email to be seamless. Anyone go through this or have any thoughts?

I would recommend having them only use a web-based email program with the hosting. With Surpass you get the choice of Horde or Squirrelmail. Using either of these programs will ensure that they can move from computer to computer and still have access to their mail.

They aren't moving computer to computer as we all carry laptops. My concern was changing over from our current hosting to Surpass. I worded that wrong in my earlier post. I'm just concerned that about the downtime between the change from our old host to Surpass.

In your e-mail client make a new account for each email account using your new server's IP # as the mail servers (rather than mail.domain.com) which will pick up new e-mails as the dns change is taking place. At the same time change the mail server's in the original account to that server's IP #, which will grab any e-mails sent to the old server during the transition time.

I switched

I switched my domain just today and had very little down time. The only down time I had was about an hour for the email to start working after configuring it in the control panel. I deleted my accounts on my other host just after setting them up with here.

Tonight i am going to try and add one of our other 3 domains over. At my old host I just had 4 accounts, but I am taking on reseller account here. I'll let you know how it goes, seeing how we have similar tasks.
