Is there a phone number for Surpass?
I'm looking into the OC5 Shared plan. (what does OC5 mean anyway?) I have a domain registered with Dotster that I want to host with this Surpass $1/year plan. When I click "Order Now", it asks me to either: Transfer My Existing Domain I will use My Existing Domain and update My Nameservers only I'm assuming I should choose the "update my nameservers only" option since Doster will continue to be my registrar? And I see now where after you enter the coupon code it brings the price down. But it does say "$3.27 - $3.27 = 0.00", what's the $3.27 for? Although it then says I'll be billed the $1.00 next cycle. Thanks! |

There isn't a phone number. Surpass handles all support through their help desk at https://desk.surpasshosting.com for shared and reseller accounts.
I don't know what OC5 means. Select 'update my nameservers only'. This is what most people do who already have their domain. Once you get your welcome e-mail it will include your nameservers. Then you will go to your Registrar (Doster) and update your domain with this information. Surpass likes to bill on the first of the month. The $3.27 is probably a prorated amount for what your bill would have been for the rest of this month if you weren't using a coupon. Hope this helps.

Hi,
Surpass uses a ticket system rather than a phone number. So for shared customers they do not offer a phone number. You would use the second option because you already have your own domain name. I believe that is an existing error that is being corrected. In the end you will only pay $1.00 for the first year. I used to be on the OC5, but moved to Power because you get quite a bit more space for only $10 a year difference, so you may also want to look at that.

OC5 is an extrapolation of "OC3" = a communiation network term. It's intended to signify HUGE. Where a T1 line is 1.5mbs, OC3 is 100x (100 T1s). So, OC5 is "super sized surpass"

Thanks everyone for answering those questions. I don't think there is anything left for me.
