Booo...
I wanted to register domain then, but I just couldn't have done that. Eh, sucks, I will have to pay $80. Anyway, thanks for your help. You made my mind a lot brighter! :hugs: |

And if you are in a foreign country, 80$ is 80$ American... so if you say live in Australia, the price is not 80$ AUD, its 80$ USD. For some people that will make the price cheaper, for others it will make it extremely expensive. I cant think of any examples, but 80$ american could be like 160$ in your own currency, likewise, it might only be 40$ in your own currency... make sense? |

Uhm, I dont live in Australia. If I did, I obviously would know the difference between austalian and american dolar.
I thought of purchasing the domain name on GoDaddy, but Im afraid I screw sth up while setting the servers or so (I dont even know how to make that GoDaddy domain name comaptible with Surpass hosting so it works together). |

Besides my previous question I'm still longing for an answer for, I was wondering about e-mails. Because once I register domain on Go-Daddy, I get one e-mail account. Surpass hosting offers me unlimited amount of them. So how it is at least? Because I'm totally lost of how much e-mail accounts I get.
Thanks in advance! |

(1) Domain Registration - The company you register your domain with, and has control of your DNS record. (2) Hosting - Where you web/mail servers reside. You can register and host with the same company or separate companies. GoDaddy and Surpass will do both, host and register. If you register with GoDaddy, you point your DNS record to Surpass hosting servers. If you register with Surpass, then you still point your DNS to Surpass servers. SO, regardless where you register your domain, you can use your 'unlimited' Surpass email addresses. Hope that clears things up. PC

About the prorated fee, let me clarify it.
Surpass wants to make bills due the beginning of each month. So, if someone signs up in the middle of a month, they are charged for a service value of the remainder of the month, while their real billing starts on the 1st of the next month. Once your first bill is due (on the following month), you'll then have the year billing from there and for as long you keep the account. The proated is only at signup, where renewal will be regular fee. Why prorated? It allows you to pay for service of the rest of the month so you may receive the service then, and not wait until the 1st of the next month. (Oh, and as Puckchaser has mentioned, pointing the domain to the host gives the hosting account an identity/access, thus the email accounts are handled on your hosting account and not GoDaddy, as their email account is for if you don't have a hosting service/account available.) Hope that helps. Also, about the domain name, you can register that anywhere. As when it comes to hosting (no matter if it is with the same company or not), you'll have to point the domain's DNS records to the two nameservers provided by the host in the welcome email (after purchase and account setup, your host will send a welcome email giving login information, etc). This is quite easy and you can count on the Surmunity (Surpass Community) to help you in any way, on that subject or any other. Welcome aboard ![]()
