Only $20 ?!

Order Details
****** (Primary)
Domain: 1 year $15.99
Main Package Power: 12-Months $60.00 + Setup: FREE
Domain(s) Total $15.99
Package(s) Prorated (This Month Pro-Rated 28 days) $4.67
Sub Total $20.66
Total Due $20.66*
* $60.00 will be due on the next renewal date: 05/01/2007
(Domain renewals billed separately.)

-----
I have a question. I want to buy a domain name with hosting. So it would be $75.99. Why does it show only payment for domain? Is there any promotion or so? Thanks!

PS. I noticed same thing in January (or February?), it showed only $1!

-----
I have another question. How do I pay ? Because I will use my parent's credit card and they are sceptical about the payment. Do they get money from the account, exactly the amount it says, or do I have to accept it or either send it to them?

Your parents 'sign up' and complete the order. Then they give you the login information from the email.

The site / login typically is set up in 24 hours or so.

You can buy your domain anywhere. Pro-rated means that, because Surpass does billing from the first of the month, you pay for what is left of this month, then your YEAR starts in MAY.

Thanks for the really fast reply!

Actually, since I'm 17, I will sign up with my dad helps. The problem is that I don't live in USA, but foreign country and I don't really know how such transactions work. If I give you my dad's credit card infos, what will you do with them? Will you just get the appropriate amount of money from the account without my acceptation (I mean by yourself, no need for my assigment or so)? It's just first time me doing such thing by Internet (buying anything) and I'm afraid that something might happen with my dad's account...

I was wondering about $20. Why don't I have to pay for hosting? Is there some promo? Because the right payment should be $75.99 = hosting $60 + domain name $15.99. And now it shows me to pay $20.66 ...

Payment will be automatically taken out for the correct amount once you give them the credit card info.

The reason you see the $20 amount is because of prorated billing. You are only charged for a partial month, so that your due date will fall on the first of the month, every month. Once the first of the month comes, then you will see the full price for the hosting (the domain is just a once yearly deal, so you will see that again next year)

The $20.66 breaks down like:

$15.99 - Domain Name for one year
$4.67 - Hosting for the remainder of April 1007 - 28 days

Then on May 1, 2007 you'll get another bill for $60.00 for one year of hosting.

In the future, you'll get two bills every year; one on May 1 for $60 for hosting and one on ~ April 2 for $15.99 for Domain Name.

Hope this clears things up.

Edit: Looks like Dew beat me to it.

Sorry, but I can't really understand... does it mean I will have to pay more than $75.99? Do I pay whole $60 per year for hosting once and I won't have to pay anything until my renewal?
4 days ago I saw different thing. It showed me to pay $75.99, so full payment.

EDIT: Ok, thanks Rick, got it clearer now, but why are there two dates, I mean April and May? Why not pay for everything at once in one day?

Are there going to be any promotions soon....?

You'll pay the current bill of $20.66 and on May 1, 2007 you'll get another bill for $60.00. So your total this year will be $80.66.

Again, like others mentioned, this is because Surpass likes to bill for hosting on the first of the month. So the answer to your questions is yes, $60.00 + $4.67 for the first year + 28 days of hosting.

Then in the future your renewal date for hosting will be on May 1 (not on April 2).

You can also ask Surpass directly by submitting a ticket to billing at the help desk.

One more question (I know I'm annoying):
Is Surpass planning on any promotion, like that one month ago for $1?

Since they just had a very popular promotion in February, I imagine it'll be a while before the next one.
