So.. I'd like to join...

hello,

i'm interested in the shared-hosting-power-packet for $6/month and have a few questions:

1. i'm from germany. is that in anyway comlicated with surpasshosting?

2. i got two .de-domains which i'd like to transfer over to surpasshosting.
in the signing-up process it sais: "Transfer my existing domain from another domain registrar ($15.99 fee)"..
do i have to inform my old webhost in anyway, or does it all work automatically?
is there a way to transfer both domains at one time, or do i have to do it seperatly and need to pay the $15.99 two times?

3. how many mysql-databases are included?
how much would additional mysql's cost?

4. does surpasshosting support GD Library and/or ImageMagick?
(for image-galleries)

5. the power-packet includes 10 add-on-domains.
does this mean that these are included for free?
or is that just the number of possible domains and do these cost extra?

6. can i pay the $6/month via paypal and/or bank credit transfer (from germany)?

7. ..any other important information?

thank you

No. You can get a lot of help both from the support team and us users here in the forum

You typically can't transfer them - but you can change their "name servers" so that they point to your account on surpass.

Unlimited, I believe - but they do take away from your storage allocation - and, excessive use of resources can get you suspended... be a good neighbor!

YES!

You still have to pay to register them, they can just be hosted / pointed to your account at no extra charge.

Paypal or credit card are accepted!

Just as I said - be a good neighbor!

No, this will not be a problem.

You can choose to transfer your domains to Surpass Domains but you don't have to. You have two options: 1) transfer the domains to Surpass and pay a fee for each transfer, which also extends your domains' expiration dates by one year; or 2) keep your current registrar and update the DNS info with the name servers you will be provided once your hosting account is activated.

If you opt to transfer your domains, you may have to provide an authorization code of some sort, which you would get from your current registrar. I'm not sure how it works for .de domains and I am not 100% sure Surpass can actually transfer this type of domain.

3. how many mysql-databases are included?

There is no limit on the number of databases. No extra cost. There is a limit on the number of simultaneous connections and, of course, on your use of server resources.

4. does surpasshosting support GD Library and/or ImageMagick?
(for image-galleries)
Yes.

These are included for free.

6. can i pay the $6/month via paypal and/or bank credit transfer (from germany)?
PayPal is accepted but not bank transfers. You can also pay by credit card.

Good luck and let us know if you have more questions.

thanks so far..
ok.. (uhm..i just registert my name here, in case you wonder)

- so if i keep my .de-domains where they are, and change their name-servers..
are there any extra-costs for setting these extern-domains up here at surpass?

- can each of my .de-domains point to a different (sub-)folder/directory?

- will my mail run over the surpass-server or my old one?

- can i choose .de-endings for some of the included 10 domains in general, if i want to use them later?

- what is the registering-fee for setting up one from those 10 included domains?
( a one-time-fee, as i understand?)

sorry for any misspelling

No extra cost - these are your 'addon domains'.

Yep. That is how addon domains work!

Surpass will become the 'host' for your domain - this is what the name servers do - they point to surpass for access to your domain name.

You can buy or change additional domains as you need them. Remember, what is included is the ABILITY to host up to 10 additional domains from the account. Which domains are totally up to you and are separate purchases (domain registrations).

See my response to the question above. When you register a domain, you tell it the name servers. Registering the domain is extra cost - and depends on the registrar that you use. But the 'name servers' will be provided to you by surpass.

No worries. Hope that I've helped!
