[Answered] unmetered servers - speed and monthly bw

Could someone please inform me of the server bandwidth speeds (10Mbps or 100Mbps)
I am mainly interested in the SP10 Dedicated Server

I am wanting the server for an imagine host site. As I'm sure you will be aware, they use a lot of bandwidth - constantly.
I anticipate within 4-6 weeks I could potentially be using anywhere from 5TB to 10TB bandwidth per month.
Is there an unmetered plan, and if so could you provide more details on this please.
Is there plan with the SP10 but with more monthly bandwidth allowance?

It is possible I may only require 1-2TB per month after months, but I want to begin with a host that can update my requirements as and if I need them

Apologies if i missed this info on the website, I did spend a good while searching first.

Cheers!
Greg

About the line speed:

https://desk.surpasshosting.com/inde...barticleid=165

Quote:
Single processor servers (Celeron and Pentium4) come with a 10mbit port, and dual processors come with a 100mbit port by default. You can upgrade any 10mbit port to 100mbit for an additional $20.00/month.

We also provide hard drive, memory, bandwidth and software upgrades. Please contact our sales staff for specific questions.

More dedicated upgrade information can be found at the following url:

I would send a ticket to the sales department and inquire further, as they would be able to fully answer your question about bandwidth. I don't believe they offer unmetered bandwidth , as no such thing really exists.

Do you mean 100mbps will never be reached? or the monthly bandwidth allowance for the package with that port speed will never be reached?

Cheers

I mean that maxing out the port would give an absolute upper limit

They used to have unmetered servers, you could just use up to whatever port speed you had... i would think they still offer them, though you might have to ask sales about the prices

there is a phonenumber for dedicated server customers. I would suggest that you write a ticket to the sales-team at http://desk.surpasshosting.com and ask your main question and mention that you would like to speak with someone asking them to ring you or give you a number

again thanks for the reply

is there any way I can just, like, well you know, speak to sales? without all the messing around registering, filling out verifacation images and waiting for emails then sending an email then waiting for a reply?

I am going to buy a server today. I have to.
And all this registering and emailing is a bit long winded when I might not even be using this company. I have already had to register with these forums to get this far, and now I have to register with other stuff, send emails, wait for replies?
If they have what I want, then fine, I will fill out forms untiltheir hearts content, but until then, I just want to speak with someone to ask a few simple questions and have no need for surpass to have my email address , name etc etc when all i want to do is ask a simple few questions.

man, it's becoming so hard to spend money with people!

Thanks for the reply people, guess I'll have to go through all the pointless procudures
