the arcade is available for smf too... smfarcade.com

i do have to ask..as it confounds me each time i see someone using vbulletin... what warrants the expense over all the no cost forums? this isnt an ad for smf but i have yet to see what more vbulletin has that warrants an expenditure? mods for smf are easy too.

please elaborate if you did consciously choose the vbulletin with expense over smf or phpbb or other

How come forums didn't have this back in the day? I remember having to search for specific lines of code to replace to get a mod to work.

sounds like the old yabb.pl systems. i had a lot of fun with that adding over 70 mods using boardmod. the other thing i liked about that was there was so much contribution and ideas for updates for said mods. they had(ve) a lot of great code writers. ironwings were my favourite for example his calendar... a calendar i have yet to see on any other board with so much features.

i havent used yabb either for years. the newer php based forums were a lot faster ..especially with mods. However, i did enjoy learning a lot of basics with it. Actually SMF is a progression of yabb.. it went from yabb.pl to yabbse(php based) to smf. there is still an existing yabb original community which has a yabb2 now i think but i sort of went the smf route

As far as I know YABB is discontinued, and the developers went to work on SMF

All I know is that I cannot stand PHPBB. The spam infested thing.
