Dreamweaver

Can I upload a Dreamveaver extension file directly or must I do this via FTP?

If I'm not mistaken, Dreamweaver supports uploads via FTP from within the program, doesn't it?

Either way, FTP and the cPanel file manager are the only ways to upload files.

Yes and that's probably what he meant.

To the one with the question, you can do this by going to the "Site Manager" and editing the site you want to have access. Go to the FTP part and fill out the information (just need the address, username, and password to access. The folder is just where on the server do you want the files to be uploaded to)

It's pretty simple, but we can always help you out as well

No problem I just thought I'd share my experience, since I used Dreamweaver as my FTP before SmartFTP.

I would recommend using SmartFTP rather then DW FTP feature as sometimes I have had file issues where the file wouldn't be fully loaded into the server. I know this probably doesn't happen often, but just a suggestion. BTW SmartFTP is free.

I agree, and that's the reason I use it now. Dreamweaver would, after a while, stop connecting until the connection was reset. So, I found Smart FTP to do everything I need and more. I love that program

I know what you mean...I've been using SmartFTP for like 3 years now and love it, I've tried others and so far for me, none compare. The only problem I have with them is the pop-up window about renewing a license if I'm a commercial user...its annoying. lol
