[Answered] Dedicated Hosting
Hi,
I'm looking to move to a dedicated hosting for my website. It currently receives at least 6000 unique visitors a day. It is heavily driven by MySQL databases. My question is, for a website that receives this amount of users, would I be better off one of the Dual Core DC3 Pentium D 920 2.8 GHz 1GB 120GB or would a Pentium 4 SP10 2.4 GHz 1GB 120GB be sufficient enough for me? I also noticed on the Updates on the Dedicated server pages it says "Cpanel Control Panel (Linux Only) $30 Monthly". Does that mean that the dedicated servers do not come with CPanel or any other type of control panel? Do the dedicated servers come preinstalled with the LAMP environment? I'm not very experienced with servers. Thanks for the help! |

I would go for a Core 2 Duo server if your budget allows for it. The Pentium D is a great CPU, but the Core 2's additional power will help much more with MySQL based sites.
