Red face [Answered] it easy?

Is it that easy to make a website?

See, I'm in an Australian Counterstrike clan..I'm more good at shooting people than all this technological stuff. Just wondering would it be quite easy to for example buy the $6 package, get a domain, chuck on a template (for example:http://www.clantemplates.com/templat...ource_blueorb/) edit the text and links?

Also since you guys are in America would it be slow for some Australian users?

Thanks!

Mak

Yes its easy, but since you appear to be new, the template may work for you, that should help get some experience.

There are Australians getting hosting here, but have no idea how service runs for them, as far as I know there isn't any complaints.

First, William thank you for helping out, your comments were thoughtful. =)

Mak, all I can say is - it's SUPER EASY! And you can ask for help here if you encounter any questions when editing the template.

Any notice you will see in slowness will not be huge, only a matter of seconds. Maybe caseylee can offer her experience if she pops in later (she is in AU and veeery happy here). =)

It's only easy if you know html / css - doing it your way.

Go get a wordpress template, the get a bbpress template that at least somewhat matches. It will take longer to get up, but once you do you can do your whole site without writing any code, and you have a nice message board.

Here is one I made: http://www.osflv.com/

Granted, thats like three days of integration (the board looks like it was coded straight into the site).

It's relatively straightforward. Even I can do it, so that says a lot..

Answering is it easy questions has been one of those I never do well with. I mean, easy for who? It all has to do with experience level, skill sets, general intelligence, and so on.

Would my dad find it easy making a website on any level? Uhm... nope. But, can he build a multi-story building without much trouble? Uhm.. yep.

But yeah, one of the CMS scripts with a template does make creating a website easier than say doing it from scratch.. well.. usually. LOL

Sorry about that :P

Wow thanks for all your quick replies! I was just thinking of using any one of these templates:

http://www.clantemplates.com/index.php?act=Templates

Download it, put it on the website, edit the text, etc. and thats that! Glad to know that this forum is active and willing to help!
