This sounds overly simple, but you could get him a Power plan for backup (charge for that) and host his main site on yours. =)

Our ToS doesn't allow backup storage on shared packages.

We do offer some remote FTP backup packages for dedicated servers. You can contact sales to get information for them.

hm, so lets say you make a post, and it gets written to 1 database. how is the database that it reads from going to get that post?
