more than Shared less than VPS > do you have it?

hi,
I'm considering to swithc to surpas.. as I've been recomended and told that the support is good

who am I and what I need?
I'm a designer and I run php/mysql sites (wordpress and others)
with +1000 pageviews/day, and around 40GB bandwith/month...
and sometimes I get dugg (not often yet)

in my current hosting they asked me to upgrade to VPS due to CPU overload (but is not true)

now I'm in VPS and I hate it because I don't know how to manage a server (and I will not learn how to do it)

so basically, what I need is:
good bandwith, around 10gb diskspace and reliable and robust server...

I don't want a VPS because I don't like to manage it.

my question is:
the only difference in your shared plans seems to be the Disk Space and the Bandwith... am I right?
if so, no matter which plan, but the CPU, memory, mysql resources and all this things are the same for everyone, right?

so, suppose I sign for the "power sared"

1) if my account is utilizing excessive resources, you will:
A- Suspended my account and then notify me.
B- Move to other servers temporarily and notify me, then help me to solve the problem.

2) I'm currently at another hosting, how you suggest make the switch? (I have multiple domains, subdomains and e-mail in my current hosting)

2.1) I have a 2Gb cpmove gzip file, can I import it?

3) do you run cpanel? if not, can I do all I can do with cPanel? like cronjobs, redirects, directory passwords, custom error pages....

3.1) can I modify the htaccess files?
3.2) can I edit the php.ini?

4) I'll run gregarius application (gregarius.net, any issue?)

5) I run a 95Mb Mysql database, can I import it?

6) Suppose the site gets dugg or gets a sudden burst in traffic and say 50,000 visitors (reasonable estimate, i think) throng the site in under 2 hours. Then, could this be handled? Will the site be granted extra cpu-power and RAM to handle such traffic? I mention CPU-power because, most shared host providers, just suspend the account once a limit has been crossed. What is the case with crucial. And will the CPU,RAM overages for this be charged?

7) if a specific file or script or whatever causes problems in the server what will you do?

8) if I run wordpress and a script is causing problems, can you know which file/script/plugin is the one causinig the problem?

9) how may tech staff per customer you have?
9.1) how many tech staff is online 24/7
9.2) I live at GMT+8... will the tech staff be sleepy and without mood to solve problems?
9.3) what happens if a ticket is not answered within 24h?

10) do you consider this mail too long?

thanks!

looking forward your reply.

The part of the site that is causing problems will be disabled. If your current hosts disabled you, chances are that we probably will as well. All of our dedicated servers and VPS accounts are fully managed, so there's nothing you'd have to do other than pay the bill every month.

Create a full cPanel backup, upload it to your account, and support will restore it.

You can't import it yourself, but you can submit a ticket and have support do it.

Not recommended in a shared/reseller environment.

You can't, but support should be bale to just fine.

The file where the traffic is going to will be disabled. However, if the excessive traffic still causes problems with Apache (despite going to a 403 page) the account will be suspended and the zone file disabled as well, so as to protect other sites on the server.

In most cases, the file will be disabled and you will be notified.

Yes.

We have over 50 staff members. I'm not sure of the "tech staff per customer" ratio, but most tickets get replies within an hour...

Support always works 24/7.

Nope, they'll be happy to help out.

This rarely happens -- usually just in Abuse and Sales and Accounting, which are not staffed 24 hours per day. Support is 24/7 though.

Seriously though: I would go with a dedicated server, because it certainly seems like your site isn't going to work too well with out shared/reseller services.

hi removed, thanks for the prompt reply.
I'll give it a try in shared and let's see what happens...

(now I'm working on optimizing the sites so when I transfer all will be smooth and tidy)

You're welcome to give it a try, but based on my experience (I'm the one who usually takes action against abusive accounts) it's almost guaranteed that you're going to run into issues with the Resource Abuse Policy on shared hosting.

Honestly, I think you'll be much better off on a dedicated server. Good luck.

One of the reasons I'm glad my blog is pretty much a boring, mundane thing and the forum I have at the Pelicar site is pretty much a niche thing for about 8 or so of us.
