[Answered] Shared hosting and how or if it effects each add-on website?

Hi

I am a big novice to hosting websites and have a question.

With the Shared Hosting package ($60/200gb) - if I set up several websites on that plan, would there potentially be any "interference" between sites? In other words, aside from the one cPanel - will all the websites (with unique domain names) be completely seperate?

thanks for your help in what is probably an obvious question

In short the answer is yes, all the websites will be completely separate.

The long answer is - to add additional domains to your account you will create them through your Control Panel as "addon domains". This will create a folder under you account for each domain. In these folders are where the files for each domain will be placed. From there they will not be able to see anything above those folders. This means they can't see your domain or any other addon domains you create.

The only exception would be you own domain. Technically if someone where to guess the name of the folders you created for those domains, they could browse to them using a url, i.e., http://www.yourdomain.com/foldername. But that's really not an issue.
