Hi all

This seems like a nice friendly helpful place, one that I'll be visiting often no doubt

I'm looking at the bronze account (to start). Do I get any IP addresses?

I note that you list CPanel 7.4 as being the one you use, but it has updated to 8+, are you using the latest version?

I notice there are no add-on domains listed (not that I'm too sure what they are, but everyone else seems to have them) do we have them ?

Can you offer a way of selling domain names to our customers (and make a small profit )or will I have to use someone like Wild West (who have the worst looking resale page in history !)

Your reseller page seems a little out of date if the forums are anything to go by.

I assume I can use a co.nz domain for my dns.

Overall, you guys look top notch, and endlessly answer boring questions, sorry to add to your load.

Thanks

Hi, thanks for the comments.

At this time, we charge for IPs, $40 each a year.
We realize most larger hosting companies give them away like candy, but we aren't to that point yet. Will be soon. We do give 5 IPs to any dedicated server client, however. They are included.

Yes, we do have the latest version, where did you see 7.4 listed, we need to change that.

Resellers have unlimited add-on domains.

We don't have a domain system that you can use, that your clients can register names on.
What we can do, is give you a discount at our surpassdomains.com site and you can register the names for them, and charge them a higher price if you want.

Yes, co.nz you can host, and all servers have reverse DNS if that is any indication that we are ready to host all international domains, that we belove.

Thank you for your questions and comments, and if you have any more let us know.

Wow, that is quite interesting. I had no idea about that. Is there any way to do some sort of branding, so customers wouldn't see the Surpass logo's? No offense to you all!

Morning (well it is here anyway)

OK, so the IP's you give to go with the dns stuff are shared IP's ?
How many ppl can share an IP before things start to degrade?
Or since it's a virtual host the IP's only act as pointers?
In the unlikely event it turns out that you don't offer the superb service that everything here seems to suggest, can I cancel out at anytime?

"http://www.surpasshosting.com/?x=resellerplans" is where you say you use CPanel 7.4 tut tut. ;-). You also don't mention the fantasico replacement, whatever it was, far be it from me to tell you how to sell your services, but it should get a mention, it's a good selling point.

Registering domain names in that way is a bit of a drag, makes everything far too manual and time consuming. Customers can't search for themselves and do what we all did which was test 50 names to get the right one. Perhaps you can work on it for us.

WHM Auto pilot looks great, for the future, (I'll walk before I run), but don't you need static IP's for this? Or can you use shared SSL's? Can't say I really got my head around some of this, but needless to say practice will make me an expert.

If you wouldn't mind answering the top 4 questions, and then I'll send you my credit card at the speed of www.

By the way this forum is very cool, does it come with the reseller package?

Thanks
Glenis

Yes, it is shared hosting and in essence, the IP is only a pointer to the server. Once the browser/user reaches the server, it then determines which content to display based on the request URL

Sign up for monthly or yearly payments, and it won't make a difference. If you wish to cancel at any time, simple email billingsurpasshosting.com with your info and any remaining balance on your account will be refunded.

Nope, not static IPs needed. As a matter of fact, you don't even need SSL technically, since all of the billing is handled by a 3rdparty like 2checkout or Paypal. But if you were to want SSL, it is available via Shared Certificates ($20/year), or Dedicated Certificates ($115/year) which come with their own IP.

Yep, its called Invision Board and is available via Scripta. The look will be different, but this forum system is customizable in look, and there are templates available all over the web to change the look.

I like you ppl very much !

Last questions.

Viruses, do you run all emails coming to your servers thru a virus program? Be nice if you can knock out most of the baddies before we get our mail.

Also the spam filter seems to be manually configurable, but do you have something I can turn on that will dump all the "enlarge your whatever", "fix your credit rating" and porn type spam before it even gets near me? Hate it all !

Cheers
Glenis

Oops, no I meant that if you are a reseller, and you have an account at SurpassDomains.com you can have a discount on any domain you register. You would have to register them yourself, for the client.
