Advice on server requirements
Regards. I'm a happy Surpass customer and I've been required for a big project that will require a dedicated server.
The site will run just one page, a very simple page where the user enters a promo code and download stuff. This will be done in PHP + MySQL, about 1-3 MySQL requests per pageview. The big problem is that there will be big traffic peaks, like 2000-10000 visitors + downloads /in a day, followed by boring days with just hundreds or dozens of visits / day. I know we don't need a big processor, but we'll need lots of bandwith and fast hard drives. These are the numbers: 100 lines of very simple PHP code or less. 1-3 MySQL requests per pageview. 50-100 MBytes every download up to 10,000 downloads in a day, about 40,000 downloads a month Need advice on this. Any help would be appreciated.
