How many resellers per server?

I'm thinking of upgrading from a reseller account to a dedicated... but I'm hesitant to go from a dual quad-core to something less powerful, I've got some demanding clients.

With that said, my choice all depends on how many resellers surpass puts on each reseller server.

So?

I think I read somewhere that it is around 100. The better question is how many accounts do the resellers have and to that I would not even try to guess. If I remember correctly there was one reseller who said he had like hundreds of accounts on his reseller but then had to move some of them.

I thought that the amount of shared accounts per server was just upwards of 100, and resellers was like 30 or something. Just so that they can put as many as they need. I could be completely wrong though.

Yeah, 100 would have to be shared, because that many resellers on a server would be insane.

Most company's I know put around 15-35 resellers on a server.

But yeah, I didn't even think about the fact that surpass just changed their plans to something that's basically unlimited. One reseller could max out the server themselves....

Also... what about the VPS servers? What are the specs of the servers and how many VPS accounts on put on each one?

I don't believe it's ever been a set number, or at least they don't say how many it is. But what you have to look at is with your reseller server which has the dual quad core, that is basically an infinite number of accounts using that processor. On your dedicated it's just YOUR clients so you know exactly how many there are. I never had issues with the processor on my dedicated machine when I upgraded from reseller to dedi, it was the RAM that I had trouble with. I only had 512mb of RAM and when I did have issues with the server getting bogged down it was due to RAM, not CPU. So really if you get a dedicated server and bump it up to 1gb of RAM I'm sure that could would be just fine. I had about 60 accounts running on my dedicated machine at it's peak and the RAM issue actually came when I was running about 50. One site got dugg pretty hard a few days in a row and it caused issues, but it wasn't all that bad once they got some caching going on.

Total Awards: 2

About 35 resellers per reseller server and about 10-15 ves on a VPS node
This varies with server specs obviously and we have reached these numbers after deploying hundreds of shared servers in the past 6 years.
