What's the ideal solution for me.

I have a corporation, it's not a big corporation only 200 members, none of them are paid employees as we are volunteer ambulance corps. Of the 200 members, only around 50 really know how to use computers and thus would be the ones using the website, the officers as well as the board of executives would be using the tools that I've created for them, but there is also a child corporation that would be ideally on the same server as the parent organization (To consolidate the bill to the ambulance corps.) They have 100 members, and they all are computer proficient and thus most 90 / 100 use the website.

So what's going to happen would be I've have 6 domains connected total to the account. WLVAC.org, WLVAC.net, and WLVAC.com all connecting back to the WLVAC.org address, and then the cadet organization would have the domains WLVACC.com, WLVACC.org, and WLVACC.net all connecting back to the WLVACC.org address.

Now on this server I will also keep electronic files as well, it will have member's first and last name, their date of birth and their Department of Health credentials, as this is privileged information it must be secure, I'm not storing SS# or anything of that nature because it's just way to volatile and the insurance concerns with this information. But as they can update their own information, that means they have to login to a secure section of the website thus, HTTPS must be employed, must be transparent to the end user, it just has to work, with no prompts so the end user does not freak out.

What's the best type of package available for this situation?

You could probably get by with a Shared solution such as the Power Package with the addition of purchasing a SSL cert. Because you run a volunteer organization, I would open a ticket at the helpdesk to see if they can do anything special for you.

Yeah, that's kinda the funny thing about us. We are a non-profit organization and have that status. As such we are tax except and as we provide Primary 911 care to our residents (As in, if you call 911, you get our ambulance, not the paid ambulance by the county or the fire departments ambulance that's paid for by the tax payers money.)

To provide the maximum security for the information you will be storing I would really suggest a dedicated server.

If you can't do this, keep in mind that only one ssl can be installed per cpanel account (limitation of the panel), so if you need multiple ssl's you may want to look into the reseller accounts.

I would tend to agree with a dedicated server, but the cost is prohibitive. At this point in time, I don't see the need for multiple SSL's, we currently run the protected information out of a sub-domain so as long as it allows for the use of one SSL across multiple sub domains it should not be a problem. Only the primary website will make use of the SSL cert, (WLVAC.org) the cadet website does not have any need for secured information as while they are a child organization, there information is still maintained within one database as they ride on our ambulance.

Sounds like you should be good with just a shared account until you can justify the need for a dedi.

Be sure to take measures to protect and/or encrypt any really sensitive information you will be using. If you are using scripts made by a third party, always keep them up to date.

We're also having an awesome sale on SSL's right now. Only $20! You can also pick them up now and use them later if you don't need them quite yet. The sale ends on the 30th Surpass SSL Sale - Extended! | Surpass Hosting Blog

An SSL will only work for one subdomain, such as www.yoursite.com or sub1.yoursite.com , but you can always place the files that need to be accessed securely in that subdomain
