Just for grins, I've set up serveral variations as a demo to answer your question:
http://fwwebs.com is a website hosted on a Surpass server http://test.fwwebs.com is a forum with no posts hosted on a non-Surpass server http://3webs.com is a website hosted on a non-Surpass server http://test.3webs.com is an under construction site hosted on a Surpass server http://linux02.3webs.com Is yet a 3rd server, you will see a cPanel default page, because linux02.3webs.com is actually the server name You can see how your browser displays the sites. I do not use Surpass' server DNS, but this is soley a convenience issue for myself. Surpass' DNS will allow for the same type of setup. |

What did you use to edit the DNS zone records?

I use http://zoneedit.com to host my DNS records, so I use their web interface. I do know that Surpass will add DNS records upon request, since prior to using Zoneedit they hosted my DNS, and added several records for my site, so the examples are possible for their customers.
