In a way it would make it much easier to be competitive, because so many hosts are offering such rediculous amounts of disk space and transfer for next to nothing. Of course, they know that most people won't use most of it, and for those that do, they've got fine print in the TOS that shuts them down.

It seems wasteful to allocate so many resources, only to have most of it go unused. For the transfer, it helps the servers stay more responsive, which is a good thing. But for the disk space, wasted space is just wasted space. No advantage at all that I can see.

I guess you'd just have to hope that not too many people actually used their plan to the fullest, or be prepared to fork over more $$ to Surpass to cover the additional server resources.

Never asked about that before.. Still confuses me why.. lol
it already is.

If your domain is "swedishfish.com" then "swedishfish.com:2082" loads Cpanel

You dont have to go "Nifty.com:2082"....

can anyone tell me exactly how the payment processing on whm autopiolot works? If I am already a member with paypal would my clients need to make a paypal account if they dont have one when they buy through my site ... whm autopilot comes with some payment processing gateways i think but im not sure how it works ... wich is the best to use wich has the lowest rates?

also if someone can point me to a place on the site that says how much dedicated IP's are that would be good too thanks =]

also where are most of your servers located?

paypal no longer required a 'buyer' to have a paypal account. I don't recommend whm autopilot until you've gotten started and have more than one client a day signing up. It's really easy to create a client in WHM. And unfortunately 'instant' accounts are often abused by spammers.

I don't know if Surpass would tell us, but I really wonder how many accounts per month they 'terminate with extreme prejudice' because they're spam domains.

a few of the reasons im considering to start out with whm autopiolot is because it comes with its own shopping cart, faq, support, and domain check system and it automatically emails my clients all the information that they need... at least I think it does ....

maybe if there are tutorials here or somewhere that show me step by step how to set up a client with domain/hosting that would be helpful

Hi,

There should be some tutorials on the WHM AP website www.whmautopilot.com
It is pretty simple though once you get your hands on it, and you can always ask us here if you have questions.

By the way, have you signed up yet? We use WHM AP as our system actually, you can see it in action.

Also please check out the top section of our board. There is a topic there about our data center.. (you asked about where our servers are, well they are right here )
There is also a topic called 'How to set up a hosting account' with screen shots of the WHM AP galore...plus good info on how to set up an account with us.. if you haven't..

yes i am definatly planning to move here =] I just wanted to get some things set straight before I do... I am assuming whm autopilot is easy to use... but bigjohn has a point on not getting it just yet since i dont have any customers lol

Thats why i was wondering how to use the regular whm (not ap) ...i have my website all set ...im going to be selling web design packages domain&hosting ... most of the sites ive done and most of the clients ive had didn't need an "e-commerce" website so this is my first attempt at making one ... although i am already familar with paypal, 2checkout seems to be popular among people too

1) Most hosting sites that ive seen have the same basic shopping cart I am wondering what shopping cart to use until i get WHM AP? i tried phpCoin once and it confused me? I took a look at the WHM AP shopping cart on this site Is there any way to have the customer choose their domain name first? I really like the shopping cart on 1t3.com eventhough thier service sucks lol

2) I want to be able to register domains wich do you people recommend for someone starting out I was looking at ENOM the prices seem fair do they provide a shopping cart too?

I'm completely lost when comes to setting up a shopping cart and registering domain names lol someone please enlighten me :headscrat

thanks :]
