My, my and more my

Never seen so many uses of the short possessive 'my' before. Of course you're entitled to think that you're entitled to your dear possessions. Only, really, most of these are not yours. They are held in common by all in society, such as health systems, the government and so on. And your possessions and security (such as it is where you are) is due to the common not to you. All you have means zilch if the rest of the society doesn't agree that you should possess them, or creates the conditions for you to possess them. So you can piss-up your dollar however you want, just remember your individualist philosophy when you're unemployed or get cancer or your kids need an operation. So the society pays for the bad decisions of some, so what? We also pay for the stupidity and selfishness of individualists, no?
And that said, I will close my input to this discussion -- you see, I have to go to work so I can pay my taxes so my kids can have a decent education, and I can have a secure and decent retirement ... :surfin:

Ha. That is my point. If I expend slices of my life in exchange for material (be it goods, or money) I expect to have say in what happens to it.

Nothing is held by society. Free men choose to build societies which further their exchange of services and goods for their individual benefit.

Imagine, if you chose to work 4 hours every saturday raising vegetables in your garden, and your neighbors all decided that you could have 1/4th of what you raised and that they got the rest....
