Lightbulb Few questions....

First is there a phone number to talk to someone?

My site has been down for a week. Need to find a host for it. I've recieved hosting for free the last several years. While free kick ass, downtime sucks.

A buddy was having withdrawls so bad he considered icing himself with a spoon. After a bit of conversation I talked him into using a knife, but he wanted to pay to host the site so he could tell everyone bye before he did it.

He signed up for another site but I couldnt' see my files. Called and waited for their tech support and they told me I had to TELNET into it to set things up. I was like "Woah, buddy that is so pre-internet" I used to TELNET with my little dialer all the time before I had internet. That was lie the only way to score porn or play Red Dragon on a multi node server. If I have to telnet into my site to give Johnny an e-mail acount to write his bro in jail, or tell my domain name to show a file to me when I access my IP, then they can have that server. It is a point and click world and I want to save all that typing to ramble in post like this one.

SO.....

Second question... Is this host into the 00's? Do you have to TELNET or can ya goto a page and tell the site to set Johnny up an E-Mail Addy?

Third question.... Does this host give me my own IP so I can view my page while I'm waiting for my domain name to tranfer?

Forth question... How in the heck is bandwidth this cheap? This host isn't slow is it?

Fifth question... If gas continues to go up in price, would anyone that reads this be interested in buying my gasguzzling F-150?

I'm sure all these questions are probably answered somewhere on here, but I'm too lazy to read anymore. Have a good one.

And before I go I gotta use this smily :atom: That thing is so spastic and distracting.

Thanks!

I've never saw a pre-sales question answered with more questions.
Nice.

Gas prices are not high... not yet.

In 1981 I drove a 1972 Pontiac Catalina Coupe with a 450 4barrel V8.
Gas in Illinois (anyone remember the gas crisis?) cost me $1.60/gallon, and that car got like 9 miles to the gallon in the city......

Adjusted for inflation, that's like $4.00 / gallon in todays $.

They're paying about $1.20 per LITER in UK....thanks to their socialist government taxes...

Yeah. Just took a trip.. And i saw the gas-price was 10.35 NOK/Litre...

got it converted to USD now.. It is 1.4869!!!! pr Litre of gas.. Plus a new car here costs usually 40 000 USD +++ We have the most insane taxes on cars..
Stupid Norway.. I want the Ford F150 Lightning... Or a Cadillac DeVille.. Or a Corvette.. Or a T-Bird.. 70's model...

As long as the environmentalists require 'boutique' versions of fuel mixtures in certain cities during the summer (smog months), we're going to face this.

If the states could all agree on a 'summer blend' then we'd drop 20-30 cents per gallon out of the gas.

By the way, did you know that almost 40% of the price of gasoline in the US is taxes? It's more overseas....
