Hello,

I am considering buying the Deluxe package and I know you can have
extra sites on one account so what is the difference between the sub
and the add on's?

Thanks

A subdomain is something like http://SUBDOMAIN.YOURDOMAIN.COM and an add-on domain is a domain names that point to subdomain in your account. So for instance if http://blah.com was an add-on domain, then you could point it to http://subdomain.yourdomain.com .

Okay,

So I get this right!

An add on domain could be a totally different web page and a sub domain
could an extension of your main domain?

Like an addon could be http://club.com
And another could be http//businsess.com and each one could be totally seperate of each other?

Then a sub domain could be pointed to by both if each add on could share the same logic/page?

Sorry for being confused but I am!

Not quite, SwiftMan. An add-on domain is a completely new domain name for you, and you can point it to a subdirectory in your website. So lets say you have yoursite.com. And you set up a new portion of it, maybe like an admin area. You put it under yoursite.com/admin/

Now, if you have an addon domain, maybe admincompany.com you could make it piont directly to that subdirectory on your website, and it might look like a different website all together.

A subdomain is similar, in that it points to a directory on your website, but you can only change the front part of it. IE: You could make admin.yoursite.com and point it to the admin directory.

So both kinda work similar, just that the addon domain would let you use a totally different domainname to reference that subdirectory.

Addon Domain= a completely different domain pointing to a directory in your file structure. You must register this type.

Subdomain= a domain like
Code:
http://this.SkAtE Bl@cK LaB3L'$.com
where SkAtE BlcK LaB3L'$.com exists as your "main" site and the
Code:
http://this.*.*
points to a different directory in your file structure.

Both Addons and Subs point to a different directory at your host, but Subs don't have to be purchased. You already own them due to your ownership of
Code:
http://SkAtE Bl@cK LaB3L'$.com
