10Mbps to 100Mbps

Is there a monthly / one time fee to upgrade to a 100Mbps port
on a dedicated server?

Thanks

I quote [Originally posted by Emmanuel]:
It is 10mbit by default

if you require a 100mbit port it can be arranged for a $25 monthly fee extra

99% of clients won't need it which is why it isn't included.

you may add that in the comments notes of your order if you require it.

Ouch, seems very steep. Servermatrix charges $10/month and I didnt like that fee. Why is the pricing for that port so high?

Where did you see this? Emmanuel says it's only $25/month extra and you have ot put a note on that when you order your plan.

This looks like a good point to jump in. Is there a way to limit output on individual connctions?

I don't think you can limit 'individual connections' that way. Apache may be servicing multiple sites/domains. I don't think there is a way to throttle the bandwidth /max burst rate on a per 'site' basis.

Not a per-site basis, a per user basis. For instance, if my IP address is 1.2.3.4 and I am on a gigabit connection on my side with a 100 meg connection on surpass, I might want to limit the bandwidth available to remote IP addresses (in this case 1.2.3.4).

Maybe I am not explaining it correctly or maybe it cannot be done as you say. I am not the best on Apache and Linux, so...

Note that I am talking about doing this on a dedicated server, not a shared server.
