Dedicated server offering reseller?

I'm looking into buying a dedicated server with cPanel and WHM. A couple of my possible hostees, though, have multiple domains, and wanted to know if I can give them a reseller account, so that they can have access WHM like they do now. I'm assuming this can probably happen, but I'm just making sure.

Also, I just want to make sure that running the entire server is well-supported for folks like me who don't know nearly enough about the back-end of website running. (I just make 'em look purdy!)

Thanks for your help!

Katie

You are allowed to do this, just remember you have to buy the necessary whm and cpanel licenses to run it on your server.

Excellent. Setting it up is fairly simple, I hope? And yes, I'll remember to buy the licenses

Thanks Scott!

This is on the order page. It appears that the license is taken care of by Surpass, but you may want to check it out with them.

Yes and as a matter of fact, you can transfer the sites to the new server if you have the server IP, username and password or a complete backup.

From their Site!

Why go the managed route?
Peace of mind: We make sure that your server is available constantly and not losing customers due to downtime and faulty system configuration.

Flexibility: We install extra software as per your need like PERL modules or other requested software to provide added features.

We are here for YOU: We strive to offer you the very best support possible. That is why we will also help you with your PHP and Perl scripts or the setting up of a web site, email accounts, ftp accounts etc. Personal support is provided via email, and Support Desk.
It almost seems too good to be true for the price. It appears that they'll extensive support. Most semi-managed providers will not install Perl modules or help with scripting.

Ooh, so instead of them needing to transfer everything themselves, I can do it automatically? Will that include all MySQL databases and such, or just basic files?

It all does sound really great. I hope this will work out for me. Your help has been really fantastic!

It's an amazing process, it will do the entire site including MySQL and I believe even mail. Always make sure you have a complete backup of the site before doing anything, just in case. In fact create the backup and use it to create the account on the new server. Then once you've checked it and it's successful, switch the DNS to the new server and your done.

yep. when you have the master WHM, you get a 'move site' option. And it really does move the whole thing. If they're hosted with you at SURPASS that makes it even easier, because support will just be able to migrate your whole world...

Wow, that's brilliant. My future hostees will be really pleased to hear that, I think. None of us are on Surpass now, but we will be soon!
