Fee for exceeding

Is there a fee for exceeding the monthly trasfer for surpasshosting or does surpass let you know you have exceeded and cuts you off?

They email you when you reach 80% of your bandwidth and will suspend your account once you reached your limit.

and yes, when you get to 80 %, if it's the 15th of the month - you can email support and they will give you a fee for how much you need to pay for extra GB of transfer.

ok

does this mean if you cant afford to pay extra, your site will just shut down for the remainder of the month and you wont be charged over?

also if i sign up for a year plan, do i pay at once or monthly?

I believe when your account eventually gets suspended after going over your limit, if you don't pay, it will stay suspended. But it should come back online the next month. (I'm not 100% sure on this, but Surpass is cool enough I would imagine this is how they do it. Someone correct me if wrong.)

As for your payment question: When you sign up for a year plan, you have the option of paying either monthly, or for the whole year at once. Paying the whole year up front saves you money (about 1 free month).

Exactly that.

you are offline until the bandwidth reset on the first of the next month.

Yearly plan is just that - you pay for the whole year at once.

Cheaper if you buy by the year, I think. Also, it saves having to remember or dealing with multiple transactions

It's not that much cheaper... I weighed my options, and it hurts my bank account less if I paid by the month then by the year... a lot less up front cost. But it is easier on your mind to know that you're good for a year. But hey, I've got peanuts to my name until September 5th... And that's with working all summer... ahh, to be a poor soon-university student...

Student soon - peanuts to your name? Student loan! (incidently, are you a resident of Canada or the UK?)
