Hi all! I'm interested in purchasing the Extreme package, however I have a few questions first.

First, I've been to quite a few other forums and hosts so please bare with me if I repeat a question that's already been asked.

1) How many people actually work at/for surpass running the customer support/tech support?

2) I've noticed that you have a vast array of options so customers can contact you. Are all of these manned 24/7 or just some of them?

3) after looking through several different hosts, I noticed that you guys seem to offer more disk space and bandwidth for the same price as opposed to other hosts. How can you manage to do this without creating server slowdown or maxing out server resources? (are you basically overselling since most customers usually don't surpass their package?)

4) when you register the domain through your checkout system, is it possible for the customer to have this domain released to them or does surpass have binding rights to it?

5) Is there any fee to get the domain released to the buying customer?

6) If bought through surpass, will I be automatically billed yearly to renew the domain or will I have to do that myself?

7) It's been years since I used paypal for anything, when I set up billing through paypal, it automatically sends the payment by use of my credit card right? :ask:

heh I don't remember if I've emailed these questions of not...

I've contacted so many hosts these last 3 weeks, I lost track of who I've asked and who I didn't. :frust:

that's why I figured I'd post it on the forum so I could just go back to see if I've recieved an answer.

Do the people that run surpass not post here?

I suppose if I can't get an answer here I'll email them, I just don't want them to look upon me as a potential bad sale.

I've narrowed my choices down to here and 4 other places and I would like to make a decision soon...

Heh, and yeah I've been asking a lot of hosts some pretty deep questions. I like to research my investment as far as I can before making my choice.

:ask: they did? Did they respond to these questions from an email I sent them? Or did they respond to the email I sent them today?

I don't recall or see any emails from anyone representing this site that answers any of these questions...

I sent an email to presalessurpasshosting.com and according to the email reply I got back, the ticket is still open...

Sometimes questions in the forum get answered very quickly, it depends on how busy we are.

But I was informed that you were answered already which is why I posted that.

I will go ahead and post the answers to these questions...

Email is 24/7, response time can be 5 minutes or up to 8 hours, it depends on how busy we are.
We try to be on AIM as much as possible, and there are always members in our forum that may help you if you post a question here.

How can you manage to do this without creating server slowdown or maxing out server resources? (are you basically overselling since most customers usually don't surpass their package?)
We do not have slow servers and we do not max out resources.
If we had slow servers, we wouldn't have any clients.
The way that we do things is the key to our success.

We don't have rights to your domain. It will say it was registered by our company at the top, but it's your domain and you can have all of your contact info on it. It's not ours and honestly we don't have anything to do with it. It's your responsibility to take care of your domain registration.

5) Is there any fee to get the domain released to the buying customer?
This kind of question is completely foreign to us.
The domain name is yours, not ours. There is no initial "capture" that comes before any kind of "release."


6) If bought through surpass, will I be automatically billed yearly to renew the domain or will I have to do that myself?
It is auto unless you request to be cancelled.

Yes, PayPal is auto.. also if you used a credit card (our 2checkout.com server) it would be auto as well.
