Anyone have video streaming examples?

I'm about to sign up to post my portfolio of movie clips but I'm sceptical about the quality of non dedicated servers. Does anyone have a website that has streaming video that I could check out? Also, can you tell me of any problems you've had with streaming Windows Media or Quicktime from the servers?

I've streamed a video encoded at 700kbps from a shared server here.

But you have to work under the 'good neighbor' policy on a shared server. If your guests downloading a bunch of videos consumes too much resources you'll have to move to semi-dedicated or dedicated server to continue doing so.

You'll also burn through a lot of bandwidth...

I have videos streaming on my site on a shared server, I haven't had any problems so far. If you want to take a look then this link will take you to the live videos section.

If it is possible, could somebody share his experience of converting .mpg video files to
streaming video files. I have used Microsoft Windows Media Encoder 9 Series and Real Producer Basic10, but got too bad quality. What kind of software do you use?

Thank you in advance for your response and help.

Sincerely,
Peter
