silverwing (I should say that I found you from the Xoops forums - considering I'm a drupal and postnuke user.... yes, I get around )

Well, I can vouch that Surpass isn't gonna disapear... I'll be officially a customer for a year in about a week.

My shortest host was around 4 months before they left. And I had paid for a year. Needless to say, I was pissed...

But Surpass is great. All the benefits technology-wise of a big company, all the support-benefits of a small company. I mean, it's not very often you see the important people of a company around a forum mingling with their costumers. Teq and Sam and George and all the other green guys, you do actually see them around.

I won't say that they're glitch free... everything on the internet has problems... but they are definately the most efficient I've ever seen at getting things done and fixed.

So basically the subliminal message here is... Cooooome to Suuuurrrrpasssss.

Plus they were attacked by 3 cat-4 hurricanes in an 8 week period and to me this is being "tested" where something bad could happen and what happens afterwards.

Well Surpass is still here and that says something, maybe only to me perhaps.

heh, I'm a fool for signing up for Surpass. Well, kinda. I'm so stoked on the company, but my timing was terrible. I signed up just before Charley hit, so their instant activation went through, and 15 minutes later it died--something not even Surpass could avoid. However, they worked right through the hurricane to get all the servers back up and running. Surpass is the greatest host out there, plain and simple.

It is definitely active at this time, no matter what Eric says.

I've been with surpass for more than one year now. Started with Power Plan, I upgraded to OC5 after 6 months, and I can assure you, Surpass tech support is superb!! [I can say this because 2 of my previous host really s**ks at tech support].

Ah yeah, the mod_rewrite thingie, it can be enable using .htaccess. I used that before, here with surpass hosting...
