Hello!
I used to have a reseller account at server pass62, everything was working fine for all my clients(40 Joomla websites with low sql connections traffic, only 2-3 of them had more). 3 days ago i decided to go dedi and so i did, paid everything and i was helped by the guys at support to move everyone one of my accounts. Except some misconfigurations of apache i had everything sorted out in one day. Second day as dedi was a pleasure for me and my clients. 3rd and 4th day everything turned out in the worst way for me since i m getting HUGE problems with server load. Its all the time between 6 and 25 making all my websites to load really really really slow. I made my tickets for support and got some answers, last 2 of them were more specific telling me that maybe we should shutdwon some php modules and furthemore do some fine tuning on Joomla code. I m wandering; all previous year where i was in a reseller account i never had any problems related to server load, now after moving to a dedi and having one day of great uptime i m getting slow perfomance on server and mysql loads almost to 85% even now that here in Greece is 3:40 am and believe me everyone is sleeping. Since i m having some clients behind me i m getting at the edge rite now so i want a solution(no offence to support, they are following all my tickets). I cant find a good excuse for having these problems with the same amount of websites under the dedi while when i was at reseller account everything was running great. I m using surpass for a while now starting for shared account, to reseller and now dedi and at my surprise now with dedi i m doing worst than ever! |

What kind of hardware do you have in your dedicated server? You must understand that the hardware on our reseller servers are very powerful because they need to be able to handle multiple reseller accounts.
Maybe the hardware on your dedicated server isn't enough to handle the traffic coming to your joomla sites. If they are recommending you shut down some php modules, maybe you can ask them to configure your server exactly the way pass62 is if they were doing fine on there.

thanx Dan!
about the modules, i have replied the last ticket advising them to do so ![]() My dedi has the following: Processor Celeron 1.7 Ghz Memory 512 MB Drive 1: 80 GB Drive 2: 80 GB Operating System: CentOS keep in mind that i have 40 accounts more or less, from them about 5-6 are active and now only one or two have visitors(we r talking about 2-3 visitors per site, so at most rite now i have 10 visitors opening mysql connections) the weird thing is that 1st day everything went great |

If you're running all joomla sites that are heavy on mysql then you will most likely have memory issues on this server. It may come with 512MB of RAM but cpanel uses up a part of this just to run so you really have less memory to work with which is probably what is causing the load.
But if our admins are suggesting some tweaks rather then hardware upgrades, lets hope that helps ![]()

yeah, I can't hop on the server to tell you for sure cause I'm at home. But if our admins haven't mentioned it then it may not be the problem.
They would have noticed right away ![]()
