Between 9 and 10am UK time (4-5am Florida time I think) I had no access to any Surpasshosting.com websites - Helpdesk and main site included. The main reason appeared to be that all the Surpass Name Servers were down. No DNS lookups were working - even using OpenDNS - and a check on the OpenDNS website showed none of their servers anywhere on the planet were able to resolve ANY Surpass domain names. Not sure how long this persisted as I had to go to work.

I would comment that the RFO post was not an obvious one to read. How many users will know what RFO means - I certainly didn't until I checked on Wiki - so not a good title for an important message trying to get peoples attention. The only reason I checked the posting was that it was the only Announcement post with todays date.

It must have been on and off then for some people because for the whole time I checked not only all of my stuff over 3 machines was down, but surpasshosting, the desk, and surmunity was down as well.

However, while downtime like that without a way to communicate until after the fact is frustrating, yet i'm very confident that Surpass will take steps to improve this.

Thank you for considering my suggestions and if it turns out that you will follow through on that and offer a 'premium' service agreement that includes a way to contact you guys no matter what in the case of emergencies, consider me signed up :-) The peace of mind i'd get from that is well worth the additional cost within reason.

Since 2003, I can think of less than a dozen times that I'd be to the point where i'd need to call but knowing that I COULD would really make me feel better...even if I have to pay extra for it.

It's interesting because I've noticed that Surpasshosting.com and Surmunity seem to be down all the time around 1am. And it's down for at least 15 mins or more. At least for me. I never really noticed it until I started seeing a pattern especially since it's around the same time. Obviously I'm not on every night to say it's everyday but seems to be everytime I try. I don't know what you guys are up too, or if it's just me, but it seems kind of odd?
