sites are still down for me, as are the other sites mentioned in this thread: http://beache.org or http://www.cr-webs.com

support keeps telling me that the 'domains resolve'; regardless i can't view the sites in a browser or check email in a mail client.

In my humble Pass8 experience:

httpd has been slow to non-existent all day.

cpanel & pop has been mostly down all day

imap & ftpd has been down all day

I just did a spot check and the above scenarios are still true.

Pass8 seems to be about normal now with server load less than 2.0.

Almost all day down, what happened? What the ... ? No report from support.

Now, if they could get stats working so I don't have to put in a ticket every few days ...

This was due to a user who was running a cron job and processing a lot of data. It was the entire cause of these issues. This is what I found, I have attached the image.

Unfortunately they had to be suspended at this time due to the severity of the issue and to make sure they understand not to do this again.

Using that much CPU and memory, when compared to other sites using less than 2% of each... very bad.

Thanks for the update and help Kayla, and Happy Birthday (belated)!

I wasn't clear: The stats I'm referring to are awstats, etc. I and my customers give a look and find that they are old news -- especially troubling when the 1st has rolled around and it looks like no traffic for the month, since the last update was the previous month. SEM's like to see the last search engine bots visits, keywords polled, and other hits.

Since December, I've not seen the updates happen automatically (allowing 2 weeks once) without a heads-up to Support. My experience with Support (bless their heart) takes a volley of messages on this, as it has happened that just one site would be updated.

From another poster, it was believed that the awstats, webalizer, etc., would be done daily. Right now, the last update was on "Generated 18-Feb-2006 23:55 EST"
-- the time my last ticket was satisfied.

Am I expecting too much on the updates?

mysql seems to be down on all my sites on pass8 as well as a couple of the other sites listed in this thread, such as beache.org and a site linked from cr-webs.com.

it seems like this is the 2nd problem with pass8 this week? i had to submit tickets for server saprus today, too. it's a drag.

var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' exists! mysql has failed, please contact the sysadmin (result was "Warning, no valid mysql.sock file found.mysql has failed
