How do I find out....
How do I find out if my web server has been reconfigured? If my web server has been reconfigured or changed do I get notification? where do I go to see a list of planned server changes? If I suspect my server has been reconfigured in a different manner than it was and it has broken my sites what should I do? When I feel that the server has been reconfigured whether correctly or just reconfigured should I contact anyone? Will they tell me it has changed?

Check here
for any announcements on pass49. If you think something may have changed, but aren't sure, you'll want to contact support. clair |

I dont see any notices to that forum as well I am subscribed to it. My problem is when I ask support if they have modified my configuration they wont answer! I dont now if I have been hacked of if its internal or if its someone at support doing something wrong and covering it up or if I programmed incorrectly. All I know is my sites are working I go to work I come back and they are not working. My sites stop working too frequently and I am getting tired of trying to find out what is going on? yes, I must admit I am getting frustrated.

I can definitely understand your frustration. What kind of "not working" are you speaking of? Error messages? The more specific information you give, the more likely someone is going to be able to assist you. You mention "sites"; which ones give you problems?

Darn thanks tch
well at first the sites would not display, I usually set folder permissions via .htaccess, I also set folder/file permissions via chmod, today when I got home from work http://teothai.com and http://ejoopjoop.com could not be accessed... file not found.... I could not login to my sites via FTP I was told that php suexec is enabled so I cant modify via .htaccess... well I have those littered all over my sites.... I asked when this was enabled? because it sure wasnt 4 hours before... but no response... they told me that globals they set globals on in php.ini, I hate that, I dont like being hacked. So, as I went thru my .htaccess to make the site work I noticed some where done and some were not, I dont know who did it, I feel a better communication standard is required. So, now I have problems with some of my scripts say the folder is not writable, I dont know if my folder permissions were changed but functionality that has been working fine now does not work at all. I try and 707 a file and I can't chang perm, I dont know why? I can only ftp to the sites now if I turn my firewall off too. |

Hrm, okay. I'm not having any issues getting to either of the sites. I'll try my best to see what I can do to help you. I'm no expert and I'm not support, so here goes...
You changed the permission of the files to 707? I don't know how well that's going to work, if anything normal files and directories should be 644 and 755 respectively. I'm able to connect to that machine, pass49, via ftp, but I do not have a login and password, so that's all I can do is connect. I've never used the .htaccess file to modify file/directory permissions. Once you connect to your site via ftp, can you change permissions? How about cpanel? Is cpanel functioning at all?
