Nameservers

Yay! My account is now active. Sweet deal. Now then, since I have a reseller account, what do I need to do to get private nameservers?

Great, it all depends on where your domain name is hosted, each one has a different way. View my tutorial on doing this at Godaddy at the link below:

There is an entry on the wiki.surpasshosting.com for godaddy users

Basically you just point the nameservers of your domain to ns1.yourdomain and ns2.yourdomain and should be asked by the registrar to supply the IP address of those 2. Then you give the IP addresses of the two nameservers you have been given by surpass

My domain is registered with godaddy, however, they have recently upgraded thier site and your tutorial is no longer viable.

After you click on your domain name, as listed in my domain name, scroll all the way towards the bottom of the page and look for this:

Host Summary
There are no domain hosts on file.
View/Modify Detail

Click on View/Modify Detail.

Nevermind, I got it. But I think you should update the tutorial. Also, this is got me stumped:

Example: Host Name 1: ns1.yourdomain.com Host IP 1: 71.11.11.11
Host Name 2: ns2.yourdomain.com Host IP 2: 72.22.22.22

Ive only got one IP address. So does that mean that I need to set NS1 and NS2 to the same IP or do I need to purchase another IP?

You would need another IP address. Didn't surpass provide you with two name servers to use on the server? If so, use the IP addresses from those.
