Disc space usage

According to my reseller account control panel, one of my clients sites has used 368 MB.

Knowing the scale of his website, I find this hard to believe, so have set about investigating what he’s got on there.

I have opened the control panel for his site and viewed the Disc Space Usage, which has generated 2 questions. I’m hoping you guys can explain if I’m missing something here.

If I add up every line, it comes to 264 MB. Any reason why this total would not tally with the total shown elsewhere?

mail/new is using 90 MB, what is this?

If I go to Mail > Manage Accounts > Show disc space used, I can see that his 3 mail accounts have a combined total of less than 1 MB

I do have a filter set-up to discard spam mail, how does the discard feature work? Is mail still stored on disc for a time?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Another place to look would be the root folder

Thanks for the replies.

I did also contact support who have explained that mail/new is the default mailbox. This does not show when you click the "show disc space used" on the manage accounts page. As far as I know it also has no "quota" setting to prevent it getting so big.

Support were great as usual, deleting 22000 spam messages and bringing the account back in line.

I have now implemented the fail rule on the default address.
