port 8080 is typically tomcat or some other J2EE server (as opposed to apache which is usually the standard HTTPD port 80).

I am back. This is still an issue and it is bugging me. I have spoken with the IT folks and they are not budging. The guy even claims he is certain that the virus that infected some many computers here came from that IP block.
Anyway, clearly I need a different plan. So here is my new idea...can I move my reseller plan to a different server? I can get to surmunity, so I have tried to get to sites in members signatures. In this way I have identified a few reseller servers that I have 'access' to. Now, I am wondering if I should ask support to move me. A few concerns/questions: - I use private nameservers, so I guess I would have to update those with my registrar - PASS50 has been very stable recently. I hate to give that up. Any suggestions? - Note that my sites are all pretty much straight HTML with a little javascript. The main site is essentially a photo album and I think only 3 people (including my Mom ) look at it |

If you do go to a new server, once your files are transfered all you will need to do is update those private nameservers at your registrar and you're done.

A new IP is not going to help if they've blocked off our entire network ip range.
Please, sir, attempt to access server1 and then server2 from your office at work. If neither of those work, your company has successfully blocked off our entire subnet.

Luckily for me I don't have this issue at work. I am good friends with the IT guys at my work and I pretty much get any piece of hardware I want and can access anything I want within reason.
