Well its generalized as unlimited, but it really depends on how much space your giving to your clients. Although if you surpass 50+ clients on a reseller plan, then it'll probably be time to upgrade to a dedicated server, since you are still in a shared environment and have to also think about the others on your server. With a dedicated, you won't have to worry about that. =)

thanks for reply.
ok so if im planning to give 40 accounts it would be ok or i still should get a dedicated. i mean this is my first reseller plan and i need it to offer our clients a complete solution in designing websites, so im worried about not giving problems on the server if i have 40 accounts. or should i be thinking in 30 or 20? thanks. |

Ok, it really doesn't matter the account number but the usage of the clients hosted by you.
For example: Reseller A has about 50 accounts, but none of them are abusing the resources, so all is fine. Reseller B only has 10 accounts, but two of those accounts are abusing the resources that are limited to that server. Then we would suggest for him to purchase a dedicated server, so that his limit isn't so tight as it would be in a shared server. if you start to have a large number of accounts and uptime is crucial to your business (more accounts = more complaints during downtime) then you should move to a dedicated also. Hopefully this helps you have a better understanding. =) |

depends on traffic
I have found that the real limit isn't number of domains, it is how busy those domains are. Lets say you have only 5 domains, but all of them are running some big phpLists and constantly saturating the server with mail processing 300 messages / hr, then that might be too much. Or you could have just one site running a phpBB install with lots of visitors (probably 60 a minute would start to stretch things) and that might sufficiently spike the load as to impact your other clients and other resellers on the server.
I generally believe that if reseller hosting is "your only job" and that is how you make your living, pay your bills, and buy food.... then there is no way in hell you should be on a shared reseller. Go dedicated. But if hosting is a side business and not making enough money to sustain you full time (like myself) then you get what you pay for.
