email problems for the last 2 months

Hey guys. Is anybody else having email problems for the past 2 months?
Several clients of mine on both my servers, Pass 57 and Dime 999, have been complaining of problems in receiving and sending emails. They have to try several times and sometimes wait sevreal minutes until they're able to send/receive anything. The same happens to me almost every day.

I keep telling support, by they send me logs showing that everything is normal and they cannot recreat the problem. But different clients keep having the same problem and it can't be fixed.

Here's the ticket # in case someone wants to follow up: BKR-273116

But I just want to know if this is happening only with me and my clients or if someone else is also experiencing this problem.

Tks for your feedback.

I wish I had an answer for you.

However i'm not on any of the servers that you are on.

I've had it too, but the culprit has been SBC/AT&T. Those companies have recently changed (and have been enforcing) new SSL / SMPT settings and if you (your clients) don't set up their email programs correctly, they can't send (and even receiving gets buggy). Just my late-night guess. Hope that helps or at least gives you another place to look.

Tks, likoma. But in my case it's not because of the ISP. I've been getting email alerts from my servers' monitors several times a day, exactly when the problem is happening, so that shows me it's something on the server itself.

It's been a little quiet for the past few days. So let's hope it stays that way.

I appreciate more feedback, guys. Is this happening only with me??

Hi Patty,

What type of alerts have you been receiving from the monitor? At first glance from your messages in this thread it appears the problem could be client side. There have not been any main configuration changes done on our shared servers with mail service and the pass57 and dime999 mail issue correlation is odd. I have reopened your ticket and will check into this for you and update you shortly.
Thanks,

Hey, Mike! Tks for coming to the rescue once again.

The alerts are just about the POP/SMTP service being down. And when that happens, I cannot receive/send emails.

I don't think it's client side, because diferent clients using different ISPs and internet connection are having the same problem, sometimes at the same time.

I received one alert this morning for Dime999, but I was away from the computer and couldn't try to send/receive email at that time. But for the past few days the alerts have been few or none, when few days ago it was like several times a day, all day long.

I appreciate you're looking into it. I'm just puzzled because this is been going on for the past couple of months and I've never had this kind of problem before. That's why I wanted some feedback from other people, to find out if it's only with me.
