Mailserver Problems on D23

Hello,

My clients are starting to call and complaining about the mailserver constantly sending back errors regarding not being able to connect. I've told them to wait a few minutes and things seem to work out but this is getting to be nearly an every other day experience for me.

Can someone please investigate this?

Sincerely,
James Wilkinson

James -

Have you looked in cpanel at the server stats?

What sort of errors are they getting?

Are they using IMAP or POP3?

John

ZenDen,

Please be sure to email support about this. Please put the ticket ID in a post here so that I can get someone to look at it ASAP. If someone else has already emailed, they are probably already looking into it.

Ticket ID: WSU-15083

What happens is that they, including me, are sending and receiving email and then all of a sudden they start getting cannot connect errors to the mail.domainname.whatever that they have listed as their SMTP. These are all POP accounts.

Thanks.

James

What mail application? Outlook 2000 allows you to increase your server time-outs, so that it's 2 minutes or more.

Look at your CPU - I bet that's RED 8+ on ONE cpu! dang that server is being beaten to death.

One client is using Outlook Express on a PC with XP. Another is using Thunderbird on a Mac with OS X 10.3.5 and I am using Mail on a Mac with OS X 10.3.5.

As for it being beaten to death, the server has a real tendency to be slow as well.

I've already sent numerous support emails about this and I was told that the server was on the list to have it's processors upgraded but no timeframe was given.

Please! Surpass! Do something to D23! I want to do more business but I'm hesitant as I can't be sure about the stability of D23... and I don't want to have to go to another and change all of my DNS settings...

As well, the Mailserver constantly sends back Invalid Password Errors... Really irritating, to say the least.
