I suggest you folks put up a way to check whether you have the correct e-mail addresses of the users. cPanel tells me that my usual e-mail address is on record as the way to reach me. Yet the announcement of Pico going down nver arrived in my inbox. Yes, I checked Horde as well as my desktop e-mail client.

I told you that the email address that you signed up for hosting is how we reach you. We do not mass mail email addresses specified in the control panel. That is for something else.
It is the client's responsibility to provide us with an email address that they will check. It is also their responsibility to update us if they want to change their email address that we notify them with. It should always be an email address that is not associated with your account with us. If emails bounce back to us after we mass mail, we find a different means of contacting those certain few that bounce. |

Sigh.
Teq, I am carlos norlos.com. I have been and always will be carlos norlos.com. That is what cpanel has me as. I don't use any other address. Ever. Now I can say something that makes me happy: I told you I am carlos norlos.com.I can send you a screenshot, if you like. Of both my cpanel screen and my inbox. Might that help? |

Ah, Teq. Let me introduce you to a funny little program called cPanel. It comes with a Surpass account. Not my favorite way to administer a web site, but hey. Not that important to me. At the top of the page it lists ways to update your contact information. When I click mine, the e-mail address I give so that Surpass can update me when it takes a server off-line appears right away. That is what I am offering to show you, to show that I keep my contact information current. If I and others aren't receiving the notice, isn't that a problem?
I can show you my inbox to show that, except for responses from tech support over this most recent issue, I've received no email from Surpass for weeks. Finally, my PHP-based weblog is still down, the one that others use and that others are still wondering what happened to it, and has been down since the Pico switch. That's why "I'm acting this way." i also don't like it when people tell me "I told you." Well, I told you that the first I heard the server was down was from another user in another state, not Surpass. That's a problem. You telling me that everyone was told is, frankly, cold comfort. I understand that problems happen on servers. Believe me, I do. What I don't like is having to defend myself when a scheduled outage I was unaware of yanks the rug out from under me. Do you work for Surpass? |

You are still trying to act like you have everything covered...
I was going to see just how far this would go... and now here is the highlight. Let's quote something very important I said in my first post about the email address we contact our clients with in the event of server modifications. "It should always be an email address that is not associated with your account with us." Let's see. You have norlos.com hosted with us. That would be your account... no? Let's see. You didn't get the email because there were DNS changes taking place and I said, you need to have a contact email on file with us that is not your account. Ahh! Makes sense now! To everyone but you? |

And for the what, 3rd time I've said this, CPANEL HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS.
Please try to read what I told you? Thanks and goodnight to all. B) |

You then made a new thread all about this email issue, when in fact it is known to most everyone that you need to have an email address on file that is not on a server with us, in order to insure that you will have a clean line of contact with us in the case of a server move or problem with DNS, in your case. It is why our website surpasshosting.com is hosted on another network than our client servers. Using different networks is important. Just about all of our clients sign up with us using an ISP email account, etc. If you have any further questions, please email support. This thread is now closed. |
